A home is part of a daily routine. Use these starting points to connect the market figures with the way you want to live.

Toronto

A neighbourhood-led search

Toronto’s neighbourhood profiles are a useful starting point for exploring the city at a smaller scale. Compare the particular streets and housing options that fit your plans, rather than treating the city as one market.

For your move: weigh the space you need, ownership costs, access to everyday amenities and the journey you would make to work.

Peel

Three municipalities to explore

Peel brings together Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga. Start with the municipality that interests you, then use its community report to narrow the comparison to relevant home types.

For your move: compare the layout and maintenance of each home, nearby services and the transportation options you would use regularly.

York

Make the comparison local

York Region comprises nine local municipalities. The quarterly reports above let you explore Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Whitchurch-Stouffville individually.

For your move: shortlist the communities that fit your routine, then compare housing costs, amenities and the full door-to-door commute.

Durham

Urban and rural choices

Durham includes eight municipalities and a mix of urban and rural settings. Its lakeshore communities and inland towns offer different starting points for a home search.

For your move: compare your preferred housing type with access to services, recreation and transportation. Use the Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and other local reports above for a closer view.

Halton

Choose the setting that fits

Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville make up Halton. The region combines agricultural communities and smaller-town settings with urban amenities.

For your move: consider how home size, outdoor space, upkeep, nearby amenities and travel needs fit together within your budget.

Simcoe

Start with your everyday life

Simcoe offers urban and rural settings. Our reports include Barrie, Bradford West Gwillimbury and New Tecumseth, with quarterly detail for Tottenham, Alliston and Beeton.

For your move: compare the home and its ongoing upkeep alongside access to services, recreation and transportation. Check the specific community rather than relying on a county-wide average.

Reading these figures. Monthly figures cover all home types and firm transactions entered in TRREB’s MLS® System during September 2026 for GTA regions and August 2026 for Simcoe County. Average listing days on market (LDOM) measures how long sold listings were on the market; it differs from property days on market (PDOM), which accounts for qualifying relistings. An area’s average price is not a valuation of an individual home.

Reporting periods. Monthly snapshots and quarterly community reports cover different periods and should not be compared as if they were the same. Reports are dated snapshots, not a live feed. TRREB may revise historical figures as additional data become available.
